3 cups cold water

¼ cup honey or agave syrup

Ice cubes, as needed

Lime slices and extra basil leaves for garnish

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the Dole IQF Blueberries and honey (or agave syrup) over medium heat.
  2. Stir occasionally and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the blueberries start to break down and release their juice.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the Dole IQF Blueberries and honey (or agave syrup) over medium heat.
  4. Stir occasionally and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the blueberries start to break down and release their juice.
  5. While the blueberries are cooking, add the fresh basil leaves to a large pitcher. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently muddle the basil, releasing its aromatic oils.
  6. Once the blueberries have cooked down into a syrup, remove the pan from the heat.
  7. Let it cool slightly, then strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove the blueberry skins and seeds. Add the resulting blueberry syrup to the pitcher with the muddled basil.
  8. Pour the freshly squeezed lime juice into the pitcher. Add the cold water and stir to combine.
  9. Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more honey or agave syrup.
  10. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the blueberry basil limeade over the ice. Garnish with lime slices and a few extra basil leaves for a fresh touch.
