
Ingredients
16 Lumpia wrappers
4 cups DOLE Chef-Ready Cuts Sliced Bananas thawed
2 cups vegetable oil
1 cup honey
1 Tbsp ground ginger
Directions
- Bring a large pot of water to a rapid boil. Using tongs, gently hold lumpia wrapper over boiling water to soften.
- Shingle 1/4 cup of bananas in the center of each lumpia wrapper.
- Fold top and bottom portion of wrapper over the shingled bananas. Turn and roll along the side until rolled tight. Brush end of lumpia wrapper with water to create seal.
- Heat vegetable oil in large sauté pan over medium heat. In batches of four, place lumpia seam side down and fry until golden brown on each side (approximately 3 minutes.).
- Remove from pan and drain on a paper towel or wire rack prior to serving.
- Combine honey and ginger in a small saucepot and heat until bubbling.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool at room temperature.
- Place warm lumpia on desired plate or serving platter. Serve with a bowl of ginger honey for dipping.
